Description

Delicious and nutritious Salmon Balls baked to golden perfection and served with a smooth and creamy avocado sauce, perfect for a healthy appetizer or light meal.

Ingredients

Salmon Balls

  • 1 lb fresh skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill or parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Creamy Avocado Sauce

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the salmon balls.
  2. Prepare Salmon Mixture: Flake the fresh salmon fillets into small pieces in a large mixing bowl. Add the breadcrumbs, egg, chopped dill or parsley, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined to help the mixture bind properly.
  3. Form Salmon Balls: Shape the mixture into small, approximately 1-inch diameter balls using your hands.
  4. Arrange and Bake: Place the salmon balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Bake them in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Make Avocado Sauce: While the salmon balls bake, combine the ripe avocado, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a blender or food processor. Blend until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Serve: Once baked, serve the warm salmon balls alongside the creamy avocado sauce for dipping or drizzling.

Notes

  • Use fresh salmon for best flavor and texture.
  • Make sure not to overmix the salmon mixture to keep the balls tender.
  • If desired, fresh herbs like dill can be substituted with parsley or chives.
  • The avocado sauce can be adjusted in thickness by adding more Greek yogurt for creaminess or lemon juice for tang.
  • Store leftover salmon balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
