Ingredients
Eggs
- 6 eggs
Filling
- 3 Tbsp hot sauce (divided)
- 3 Tbsp Nashville Hot Seasoning (divided)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1/8 tsp salt
Topping and Garnish
- 2 Tbsp crushed salt & vinegar kettle cooked potato chips
- 1 Tbsp sliced green onion
Instructions
- Hard Boil and Prepare Eggs: Place 6 eggs in a pot of boiling water and cook until hard boiled, about 10-12 minutes. Once cooked, peel the eggs and cut them in half lengthwise. Carefully remove the yolks and place them into a medium bowl.
- Make the Filling: To the egg yolks add 1 tablespoon of hot sauce, 2 tablespoons of Nashville Hot Seasoning, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, and 1/8 teaspoon salt. Mix all ingredients together until smooth and creamy, creating a spicy and flavorful filling.
- Fill the Egg Whites: Add a dash or two of hot sauce into the hollowed-out whites of each egg, adjusting to your preferred heat level. Then fill each egg white cavity generously with the spicy yolk filling, about a heaping tablespoon per egg half.
- Prepare Crunchy Topping: Crush 2 tablespoons of salt & vinegar kettle cooked potato chips and combine with 2 dashes of hot sauce and 1 tablespoon of Nashville Hot Seasoning. Sprinkle this crunchy, tangy topping evenly over the filled eggs to add texture and extra flavor.
- Garnish and Serve: Finish by garnishing each deviled egg with 1 tablespoon of sliced green onions for a fresh bite and a pop of color. Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the heat level in both the filling and the topping.
- Use fresh green onions for garnish to add brightness and crunch.
- For prep, eggs can be boiled ahead of time and refrigerated, but assemble just before serving to keep toppings crunchy.
- Nashville Hot Seasoning can be homemade or store-bought; it typically includes spices like cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
- Crushed kettle chips add a unique texture and saltiness compared to bread crumbs or nuts.
