Description

This Low Fat Peanut Butter Powder Yogurt Frosting is a creamy, nutritious, and versatile frosting made with Greek yogurt and powdered peanut butter. It’s a lighter alternative to traditional buttercream or cream cheese frostings, boasting a rich peanut flavor with fewer calories and fat. Ideal for frosting cakes, cupcakes, or as a dip, this frosting can be adapted to dairy-free versions and easily adjusted for thickness to suit your needs.

Ingredients

Frosting Ingredients

  • ½ cup Greek yogurt, low fat, unsweetened (can substitute with regular or dairy-free yogurt)
  • ½ cup plus 2 Tbsp powdered peanut butter, unsweetened
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar of choice (such as monk fruit sweetener; optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a clean bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, powdered peanut butter, and granulated sugar together thoroughly until there are no visible clumps of powdered peanut butter.
  2. Adjust Consistency: To make a thicker frosting, add more powdered peanut butter gradually. For a thinner frosting, add more yogurt until desired texture is achieved.
  3. Chill: For best results, transfer the bowl to the refrigerator and cool for about one hour to allow the frosting to set and thicken.
  4. Use: Fit the mixture into a piping bag and use it to frost cakes, cupcakes, or as a delicious dip.

Notes

  • When using regular non-Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt alternatives such as almond, coconut, or oat milk-based yogurts, add 2-3 teaspoons more powdered peanut butter to thicken the frosting since these yogurts are less thick compared to Greek yogurt.
