Ingredients
Pasta
- 8 oz Spaghetti
Beef Mixture
- 1 Tablespoon Canola or Vegetable Oil
- 1 Pound Ground Beef, or ground chuck
- 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
Sauce
- ½ Cup Soy Sauce
- ½ Cup Orange Juice
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup Sweet Chili Sauce
- 2 teaspoons Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
Garnish
- 2 Green Onions, sliced, plus more for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of heavily salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti to al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown Beef and Garlic: Heat the oil in a cast iron pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and minced garlic. Using a meat chopper or spatula, break the beef into small pieces and cook until browned thoroughly, about 3 to 5 minutes. Drain any excess grease from the pan.
- Prepare Sauce: In a glass measuring cup or bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, sweet chili sauce, toasted sesame oil, and cornstarch until well combined.
- Simmer Sauce with Beef: Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked beef in the pan. Stir to combine and simmer over medium heat until the sauce thickens slightly, coating the beef, about 2 to 4 minutes.
- Combine and Serve: Serve the flavorful ground beef sauce over the cooked spaghetti. Garnish generously with sliced green onions and additional green onions if desired for freshness and color.
Notes
- Use ground chuck for a meatier flavor and better texture.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the brown sugar or sweet chili sauce to your taste.
- To make it spicier, add some red pepper flakes or a dash of sriracha.
- For gluten-free, use gluten-free soy sauce and noodles.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated gently on the stovetop.
