Description

Delicious and wholesome no-bake chocolate oat bites made with natural ingredients like nut butter, honey, oats, and chocolate chips. These healthy snacks are easy to prepare, perfect for on-the-go energy, and free from artificial additives. Whether you prefer peanut or almond butter, these bites combine rich flavors and satisfying textures without using the oven.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup favorite nut butter (peanut butter or almond butter)
  • ¼ cup honey (e.g., local Byler’s Bee Farm Honey)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 ½ cups old-fashioned oats or gluten-free oats (not quick oats)
  • ¼ cup unsweetened flaked coconut
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (mini chocolate chips preferred, e.g., Enjoy Life brand)
  • Optional: raisins or any dried fruits, nuts, etc.

Instructions

  1. Combine wet ingredients: Melt the butter or coconut oil, nut butter, and honey together in a microwave-safe bowl until fully melted. Stir the mixture thoroughly to combine the ingredients evenly.
  2. Add oats: Pour the old-fashioned or gluten-free oats into the wet mixture and combine well to ensure the oats are fully coated.
  3. Mix in coconut and chocolate chips: Stir in the unsweetened flaked coconut and chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  4. Transfer to pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan (for thinner bars) or a 9×5-inch loaf pan (for thicker bars) with foil or parchment paper. Pour the mixture into the lined pan and spread it evenly.
  5. Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for 30 to 45 minutes until the mixture is firm.
  6. Cut and serve: Once firm, pull the foil or parchment paper up from the sides. Transfer the solidified granola block onto a cutting board and cut into bars or bites of your desired size. Enjoy as a wholesome snack.

Notes

  • Use old-fashioned or gluten-free oats, not instant or quick oats, for the best texture.
  • You can substitute unsalted butter with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • Mini chocolate chips distribute more evenly, but regular chips can be used.
  • Optional add-ins like raisins, dried fruits, or nuts can be included for variety.
  • Store bites in the refrigerator to keep them firm and fresh.
