Description

Fried Pickle Ranch Dip is a creamy and tangy appetizer perfect for parties or casual snacking. This flavorful dip combines whipped cream cheese, sour cream, dill pickles, and ranch seasoning, topped with toasted panko breadcrumbs for a delightful crunch. Serve chilled with chips, pretzels, or fresh vegetables for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Dip Ingredients

  • 12 ounces whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup dill pickle, finely chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped, plus some for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely snipped, plus some for garnish
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (1/2 a lemon), freshly squeezed

Topping

  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Toast Panko Breadcrumbs: Add the panko breadcrumbs to a dry skillet and heat over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally to ensure even toasting until the breadcrumbs turn golden brown. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Reserve 1 tablespoon for garnish.
  2. Mix Dip Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the whipped cream cheese, sour cream, finely chopped dill pickles, ranch seasoning, freshly grated garlic, chopped fresh dill, finely snipped fresh chives, onion powder, kosher salt to taste, and freshly ground black pepper. Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon and stir everything thoroughly to combine.
  3. Incorporate Toasted Panko: Fold the toasted panko breadcrumbs (except for the reserved tablespoon for garnish) into the dip mixture until evenly distributed.
  4. Chill the Dip: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate the dip for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight, allowing the flavors to develop and meld together.
  5. Serve: Transfer the dip to a shallow serving bowl. Garnish with reserved toasted panko, extra chopped dill pickles, and fresh herbs like dill and chives. Serve with wavy chips, pretzel thins, or fresh veggies. This dip also works great as a spread for sandwiches or wraps.

Notes

  • For best flavor, chill the dip overnight to allow ingredients to meld.
  • Use freshly grated garlic to maximize flavor and aroma.
  • Adjust ranch seasoning and salt according to your taste preference.
  • Pickle types can be varied (dill or bread and butter) for different flavor profiles.
  • Toast panko carefully to avoid burning and achieve a perfect crunch.
  • This dip can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
