Description

This Easy One-Pot Teriyaki Noodles recipe is a quick and flavorful stir-fry combining tender shredded cabbage and carrots with a sweet and savory teriyaki sauce. Cooked all in one pot, this dish simplifies meal prep while delivering satisfying, comforting flavors perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Vegetables

  • ½ green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 carrots, shredded

Sauce

  • ⅔ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Pasta and Others

  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 16 oz spaghetti (1 pound box)
  • 3 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Sauté Vegetables: Heat a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil, shredded cabbage, and shredded carrots. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables soften and become tender, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
  2. Add Sauce Ingredients and Spaghetti: To the pot, add soy sauce, brown sugar, ground mustard, ground ginger, and garlic powder. Mix well to combine the sauce with the vegetables. Next, add the spaghetti noodles. You may break the spaghetti in half to fit easier, but it is optional. Pour in 3 ½ cups of water.
  3. Cook the Noodles: Cook the spaghetti uncovered for 15 to 18 minutes. Once the noodles start to become flexible and bendable, stir the pot every few minutes, increasing frequency towards the end to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
  4. Finish and Serve: When the noodles are fully cooked and have absorbed most of the liquid, remove the pot from heat. Toss in the sesame seeds and mix thoroughly. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra sesame seeds and green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Breaking the spaghetti is optional, but helps with easier stirring and cooking.
  • Stirring frequently towards the end is key to preventing noodles from sticking to the pot.
  • Adjust brown sugar amount if you prefer sweeter or less sweet teriyaki flavor.
  • For added protein, consider topping with cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
  • Garnishing with green onions or sesame seeds adds a nice crunch and fresh taste.
