Description
Delicious and easy-to-make creamy pickle roll ups featuring a tangy cream cheese, ranch, and dill pickle filling wrapped in buttery crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection. Perfect as an appetizer or snack for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Filling
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning
- ½ cup dill pickle relish, or finely chopped dill pickles
Dough
- 16 ounces crescent roll dough (two 8-ounce cans)
Topping
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, or 1 teaspoon dried dill
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the perfect temperature while you prepare the rolls.
- Make the creamy pickle filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and dill pickle relish. Stir well until you have a smooth, evenly mixed creamy filling.
- Prepare the dough: Unroll both cans of crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Press the perforations together to create two large sheets of dough.
- Spread the filling: Evenly spread the creamy pickle mixture over the surface of the crescent roll dough sheets, covering them fully but leaving a small edge around for rolling.
- Roll up the dough: Starting from the short side of each dough sheet, roll tightly over the filling to form a log.
- Slice the rolls: Using a serrated knife, cut each log into 8 equal pieces, about 1 inch thick, making 16 rolls total.
- Arrange on baking sheet: Place the rolls onto a greased or parchment-lined 12 x 18 inch baking sheet, spacing them about ½ to 1 inch apart.
- Add butter and dill topping: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with fresh or dried dill. Brush this mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls to add flavor and promote a golden crust.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-22 minutes until the rolls turn golden brown and cooked through.
Notes
- The creamy pickle filling can be made up to 3 days in advance and stored in the fridge.
- For extra pickle tang, add 1-2 tablespoons of pickle juice to the cream cheese mixture.
- These rolls can be prepared ahead and reheated in an air fryer or oven for best texture before serving.
- If a 12 x 18 inch baking sheet isn’t available, two smaller sheets or casserole dishes will work; keep rolls spaced about ½–1 inch apart.
- The recipe yields 16 rolls but can be halved for smaller servings by using one can of crescent roll dough and halving other ingredients.
