Ingredients
Nutter Butter Crust
- 32 Nutter Butter cookies (approx. 4 cups crumbs)
- ½ cup melted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Peanut Butter Filling
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
- ¼ cup creamy peanut butter
Toppings
- 1 cup peanut butter chips
- ½ cup roasted peanuts
- 12 Nutter Butter cookies, chopped
- ¾ cup Reese’s Pieces candy
- flaky sea salt (optional)
- 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter (for drizzling)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
- Make the Nutter Butter crust: Using a food processor, blender, or a zip-top bag and rolling pin, crush 32 Nutter Butter cookies into about 4 cups of fine crumbs. In a large bowl, mix the cookie crumbs with brown sugar and salt, then stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Press crust into pan: Use a glass or flat-bottomed measuring cup to firmly press the cookie crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust layer.
- Prepare the filling: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt ¼ cup of creamy peanut butter for about 30 seconds until smooth. Stir in the entire 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk until fully combined into a creamy filling.
- Assemble the bars: Sprinkle the peanut butter chips and roasted peanuts evenly over the crust. Pour the peanut butter and condensed milk mixture on top, spreading it evenly. Then scatter the chopped Nutter Butter cookies and Reese’s Pieces candy over the filling. Gently press the toppings into the mixture using a spatula or fork to help everything adhere.
- Add flaky sea salt (optional): If desired, sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over the top to enhance the flavors.
- Bake: Bake the bars in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and the bars are set.
- Cool and chill: Remove the pan from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours to firm up.
- Serve with drizzled peanut butter: Before serving, melt 2 tablespoons of creamy peanut butter in the microwave until smooth and drizzle it over the chilled bars for an extra burst of peanut butter flavor.
Notes
- To crush cookies without a food processor, place them in a sealed plastic bag and use a rolling pin to crush them into fine crumbs.
- For easier cutting, chill the bars thoroughly in the refrigerator before slicing to prevent crumbling.
- If you prefer a less sweet dessert, reduce the amount of sweetened condensed milk slightly or omit the Reese’s Pieces topping.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
- For a nut-free variation, substitute peanut butter and peanuts with seed butters and seeds, and omit the peanuts topping.
