Description
Strawberry Matcha Latte is a vibrant, creamy drink that blends the earthy taste of matcha with the sweetness of strawberries, creating a refreshing and unique beverage.
Ingredients
1 cup milk (or any dairy-free milk such as almond, oat, or coconut)
1 teaspoon matcha powder (ceremonial grade for best flavor)
2 tablespoons hot water
1/4 cup fresh strawberries (or strawberry puree)
1–2 teaspoons honey or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes (optional, if making iced)
Fresh strawberry slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk the matcha powder with 2 tablespoons of hot water in a small bowl until smooth and frothy.
- In a small saucepan, heat the strawberries and honey over medium heat, mashing the strawberries to release juice. Cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens into a syrup. Strain if preferred.
- Heat the milk in a saucepan or microwave until hot but not boiling. Froth the milk using a frother or by whisking it vigorously.
- In a tall glass, pour the strawberry syrup at the bottom. Add the matcha mixture over the syrup and top with the frothed milk to create layers. For iced, add ice cubes before assembling.
- Garnish with fresh strawberry slices and serve immediately.
Notes
Use ceremonial grade matcha for the best flavor, but culinary grade can be used if necessary.
Adjust the sweetness of the strawberry syrup and matcha to your liking by adding more or less sweetener.
For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and vegan-friendly sweeteners like maple syrup or agave nectar.
Can be served hot or iced. For iced, add ice cubes to the glass before assembling or blend the ingredients for a smoothie-like texture.
