Description
Rice Krispie Treat Ghosts are a fun, spooky, and festive Halloween dessert. Made with soft, chewy Rice Krispie treats coated in white chocolate and decorated with cute ghost faces, they’re perfect for parties, school events, or a scary movie night snack.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 package (10 ounces) mini marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
12 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
Black edible gel or chocolate chips (for eyes and mouth)
Instructions
- Prepare Rice Krispie Treats: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add mini marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Shape Ghosts: Let the mixture cool slightly, then shape into ghost-like forms using your hands or a spoon. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Coat with White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Spoon or drizzle melted chocolate over each ghost, letting excess drip off.
- Decorate Faces: Before coating sets, use black edible gel or small chocolate chips to create eyes and a mouth for each ghost.
- Set and Serve: Let ghosts sit at room temperature or in the refrigerator until the coating is firm. Serve immediately or store for later.
Notes
Add orange or purple candy melts for colorful Halloween ghosts.
Mix mini chocolate chips into the Rice Krispie base for extra texture.
Drizzle with caramel or colored icing for a decorated twist.
For variety, make smaller bite-sized ghosts or one large show-stopper ghost.
