Description

Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies combine rich, creamy peanut butter with sweet chocolate in a chewy, melt-in-your-mouth cookie. Topped with a Hershey’s Kiss, these treats are perfect for holiday gatherings or anytime you crave a sweet indulgence.


Ingredients

1 cup unsalted peanut butter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup additional granulated sugar (for rolling the dough)

1 package (about 30 pieces) Hershey’s Kisses (unwrapped)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
  2. Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract, baking soda, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.
  3. Form the Dough Balls: Roll the dough into small 1-inch balls using your hands or a cookie scoop. Roll each ball in the additional granulated sugar to coat evenly.
  4. Bake the Cookies: Place the sugar-coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the cookies look set.
  5. Add the Hershey’s Kisses: Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie as soon as they come out of the oven. The cookie will crack slightly around the edges.
  6. Cool the Cookies: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, add mini chocolate chips to the dough or drizzle the cookies with melted chocolate.

Experiment with different types of chocolate for the center, like dark chocolate or caramel-filled Kisses.

For a crunchier texture, roll the dough in crushed peanuts instead of sugar.
