Ingredients
1 loaf French bread
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chopped green olives (or mix with black olives)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
- Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally and place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
- In a medium bowl, mix together butter, mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, olives, garlic, oregano, and parsley until combined.
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly over both bread halves.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are golden.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
Use different cheeses like gouda, provolone, or Gruyère for variety.
Top with red pepper flakes or jalapeños for a spicy twist.
Add cooked crumbled sausage or chicken for a meaty version.
Make vegan by substituting plant-based butter and cheese.
