Description

Olive Cheese Bread is a savory, gooey, and flavor-packed appetizer or side dish made with crusty bread topped with a cheesy, garlicky olive mixture. It’s quick to prepare, bakes up bubbly and golden, and makes a perfect addition to any meal or gathering.

Ingredients

1 loaf French bread

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup chopped green olives (or mix with black olives)

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment or foil.
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally and place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together butter, mozzarella, cheddar, Parmesan, olives, garlic, oregano, and parsley until combined.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over both bread halves.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly and edges are golden.
  6. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Use different cheeses like gouda, provolone, or Gruyère for variety.

Top with red pepper flakes or jalapeños for a spicy twist.

Add cooked crumbled sausage or chicken for a meaty version.

Make vegan by substituting plant-based butter and cheese.

Freeze unbaked bread for up to 3 months—thaw and bake as needed.
