Description
Mango Iced Tea is a refreshing and tropical twist on classic iced tea, blending the natural sweetness of ripe mango with the crispness of black tea. It’s perfect for hot summer days or whenever you need a cool, flavorful beverage.
Ingredients
2 black tea bags (or any tea of your choice)
2 cups water
1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped
1–2 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, to taste)
Ice cubes
Fresh mint (optional, for garnish)
Lime wedges (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Brew the tea: Boil 2 cups of water and pour it over the black tea bags in a heatproof container. Let the tea steep for about 5 minutes, then remove the tea bags and set the tea aside to cool.
- Prepare the mango puree: While the tea is cooling, place the chopped mango in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, adding a splash of water if needed to help blend the mango into a smooth puree.
- Combine the tea and mango: Once the tea has cooled, pour it into a large pitcher. Add the mango puree and stir to combine. Taste the mixture and add honey or sugar to sweeten, if desired. Stir until the sweetener dissolves completely.
- Chill the tea: Refrigerate the mango iced tea for at least 1-2 hours, or until it’s well chilled. This allows the flavors to meld together.
- Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the chilled mango iced tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves or lime wedges for an extra burst of flavor and a pretty presentation.
Notes
This iced tea is best enjoyed cold, and you can adjust the sweetness to your liking.
Feel free to experiment with other fruits like pineapple or passion fruit for different flavor combinations.
