Description
Homemade Orange Popsicles are a refreshing, healthy treat that you can easily make at home. Bursting with the bright, tangy flavor of fresh oranges, these popsicles are perfect for hot summer days, a fun snack, or even as a light dessert.
Ingredients
2 cups freshly squeezed orange juice (about 4–5 oranges)
1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for added tang)
1/2 cup water (optional, for a lighter flavor)
Instructions
- Squeeze the juice from the oranges into a bowl, straining out any seeds or pulp. If using, add the lemon juice and sweetener to the bowl, stirring until everything is well combined.
- Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness as needed. If you prefer a lighter flavor, you can add water to the mixture.
- Pour the orange juice mixture evenly into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top to allow for expansion as they freeze.
- Place the popsicle sticks into the molds, ensuring they stay centered and upright.
- Transfer the molds to the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until fully set.
- To remove the popsicles, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds, then gently pull on the sticks to release the popsicles.
Notes
If you prefer a more natural taste, feel free to omit the honey or maple syrup.
You can add a splash of coconut milk or pineapple juice to the orange mixture for a tropical flavor.
For a creamier version, blend in some yogurt, coconut milk, or coconut cream.
Store any leftover popsicles in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
