Frozen Hot Chocolate is a decadent twist on the classic winter beverage, blending rich chocolate with ice for a frosty, creamy dessert drink topped with whipped cream and chocolate garnish.
Ingredients
2 cups whole milk (or preferred milk)
1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1/4 cup granulated sugar (or to taste)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups ice
1/4 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
Whipped cream (for topping)
Chocolate shavings or chocolate syrup (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, whisk together milk, cocoa powder, and sugar over medium heat until smooth and simmering, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Add chocolate chips or chopped chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
- Let the chocolate mixture cool to room temperature or chill in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
- Transfer the cooled mixture to a blender. Add ice and blend until slushy and smooth.
- Pour into glasses and top with whipped cream. Garnish with chocolate shavings or syrup.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your creamy frozen indulgence.
Notes
Use dairy-free milk and chocolate for a vegan version.
Can be prepared in advance by storing the chocolate base in the fridge.
Add mint, spices, or nut butter for flavor variations.
Blend with extra ice if the mixture becomes too melted before serving.
