Description
These Easy Cinnamon Twists are crispy, lightly sweet pastries made by twisting puff pastry and coating it in cinnamon sugar. Perfectly golden and ready in about 20 minutes—ideal for a quick treat or brunch accompaniment.
Ingredients
1 sheet (about 9″×9″) puff pastry, thawed
¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
3 tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional: 2 tbsp coarse sugar or sanding sugar for extra crunch
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 °F (200 °C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon evenly.
- Unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Brush entire surface with melted butter.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the buttered pastry and press gently to adhere.
- Cut pastry into 12 strips (about 1″ wide). Twist each strip several times into a spiral.
- Place on prepared sheet with space between. Sprinkle with coarse sugar if using.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until puffed and golden. Cool briefly on sheet, then transfer to rack.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Drizzle with powdered sugar icing for extra sweetness.
Add nutmeg or cardamom to spice blend for variation.
