Description

Easy Chicken Sliders are a simple and delicious meal that’s perfect for any occasion, from casual dinners to game day snacks. Tender chicken, melted cheese, and flavorful toppings are nestled in soft slider buns for a bite-sized treat that everyone will love. These sliders are easy to assemble and even easier to eat!

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for juicier sliders)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional for extra flavor)

For the Sliders:

12 slider buns (dinner rolls or Hawaiian rolls work well)

6 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)

1 tablespoon butter, melted

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)

Pickles, lettuce, tomato, or other desired toppings (optional)

For Garnish (optional):

Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Season the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and lemon juice. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 75°C). Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes. After resting, slice the chicken into strips or chunks that will fit nicely in the slider buns.
  2. Assemble the Sliders: While the chicken is resting, slice the slider buns in half. Place the bottom halves of the buns in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish or a large sheet pan. Layer the cooked chicken pieces on the bottom buns. Top with a slice of cheese on each slider. Place the top halves of the buns on top of the cheese and chicken.
  3. Bake the Sliders: Brush the melted butter over the top of the buns. If you like, spread a little Dijon mustard on the top buns for added flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes. If desired, add pickles, lettuce, tomato, or other toppings to each slider. Slice the sliders and serve immediately.

Notes

Add BBQ sauce or buffalo sauce to the chicken for a different flavor profile.

Use different cheese options, like provolone, Swiss, or pepper jack, for a fun twist.

Add caramelized onions or sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor.
