Description
Crispy Garlic Air Fryer Broccoli is a healthy and flavorful side dish made with tender broccoli florets and seasoned with garlic, olive oil, and red pepper flakes. The air fryer gives it a perfect crispy texture while keeping the insides tender, making it a great snack, side, or topping for various dishes.
Ingredients
4 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Broccoli: If using fresh broccoli, wash and cut the broccoli into florets. If using frozen broccoli, make sure it’s thawed and pat it dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Toss with Oil and Seasonings: In a large bowl, toss the broccoli florets with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Ensure the broccoli is evenly coated with the oil and seasonings.
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Air Fry the Broccoli: Place the seasoned broccoli florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are spread out evenly. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking. If you want extra crispiness, you can cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Serve: Once the broccoli is crispy and golden, remove it from the air fryer and transfer it to a plate. Garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
Lemon Garlic: Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and zest over the broccoli after cooking for a bright, zesty flavor.
Cheesy Garlic Broccoli: Sprinkle grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese over the broccoli in the last 2-3 minutes of cooking to melt and create a cheesy crust.
Herb Seasoning: Add herbs like rosemary, thyme, or oregano to the seasoning mixture for a fragrant twist.
Balsamic Glaze: Drizzle a balsamic glaze over the cooked broccoli for a tangy, sweet addition.
