Ingredients
Cheesecake Filling
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp cotton candy extract or flavoring
- ¼ cup whipped topping
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Dough & Coating
- 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (for dusting)
- 4 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp cotton candy flavoring (optional)
- Pink and blue food coloring (optional)
Garnish
- Fresh cotton candy pieces
- Powdered sugar for dusting
- Whipped cream or drizzle of white chocolate (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Cheesecake Filling: Beat softened cream cheese in a bowl until creamy and smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cotton candy extract, mixing thoroughly until well combined. Gently fold in whipped topping and heavy cream. Cover and chill the mixture for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare Dough: Lightly dust a clean surface with all-purpose flour and roll out the refrigerated biscuit dough to ease shaping later.
- Assemble Cheesecake Bombs: Scoop chilled cheesecake filling into portions and wrap each portion tightly with the rolled biscuit dough, ensuring the filling is fully enclosed and sealed.
- Fry the Bombs: Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the wrapped cheesecake bombs into the hot oil and fry for 1–2 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown and crisp.
- Prepare Cotton Candy Sugar Coating: In a bowl, mix granulated sugar with the optional cotton candy flavoring and add pink and blue food coloring as desired. While still warm, roll the fried bombs in this sugar mixture to coat them evenly.
- Finish and Serve: Dust the coated cheesecake bombs with powdered sugar or drizzle with white chocolate if desired. Garnish with fresh cotton candy pieces and serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
Notes
- For a lighter version, you can air fry the cheesecake bombs at 350°F (175°C) for 8 minutes or bake them at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes instead of deep frying.
- Store leftover cheesecake bombs in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To restore crispness when reheating, warm the bombs in an oven at 325°F (160°C) for 5 minutes.
