Description

The Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich is a delicious and satisfying twist on the classic Caesar salad. Featuring a crispy, golden chicken breast coated in seasoned breadcrumbs, this sandwich is topped with fresh romaine lettuce, creamy Caesar dressing, and grated Parmesan—all served on a toasted bun.

Ingredients

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)

2 sandwich rolls or brioche buns, toasted

1 cup fresh romaine lettuce, shredded

1/4 cup Caesar dressing (store-bought or homemade)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Optional: Sliced tomatoes for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  3. Spread Caesar dressing on the bottom half of each toasted sandwich roll. Place a handful of shredded romaine lettuce on top of the dressing, then add the crispy chicken breast.
  4. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the chicken, and if desired, add additional toppings such as sliced tomatoes.
  5. Place the top bun on the sandwich, slice it in half, and serve immediately.

Notes

If you prefer a lighter option, you can grill the chicken breasts instead of frying them.

For extra heat, add a drizzle of hot sauce or red pepper flakes before serving.

You can substitute Parmesan with Romano or Asiago cheese for a different flavor profile.

This sandwich can be made healthier by baking the chicken, using whole wheat buns, and opting for a lighter Caesar dressing made with Greek yogurt.
