Description
Churro Cheesecake Bars are a delicious dessert combining the cinnamon-sugar coating of classic churros with a creamy cheesecake filling, layered between buttery crescent roll dough. Easy to prepare and baked until golden, these bars offer a perfect blend of crispy, creamy, and cinnamony flavors in every bite.
Ingredients
Cinnamon Sugar Mixture
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
Cheesecake Filling
- 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dough
- 2 cans (8 oz each) Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls
Instructions
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine ½ cup sugar and 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon. Stir well and set aside for later use.
- Make Cheesecake Filling: Using a mixer, beat the softened cream cheese until it is smooth and creamy. Add ½ cup sugar, 1 egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, then continue to beat until the mixture is well combined and smooth. Set aside.
- Prepare the Pan: Spray a 9×13-inch baking pan lightly with non-stick cooking spray. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly on the bottom of the pan to create a flavorful base.
- Roll Out First Layer of Dough: Unroll one can of the crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured sheet of waxed paper. Gently press all the seams together so it forms one solid sheet. Carefully lift the dough and place it into the prepared pan on top of the cinnamon sugar. Press it evenly to cover the bottom and edges of the pan.
- Add Cheesecake Layer: Spread the prepared cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough layer, ensuring a smooth, uniform layer across the surface.
- Roll Out Second Dough Layer: Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and roll it out on wax paper as you did with the first layer. Place this dough layer carefully on top of the cream cheese filling, pressing lightly to cover it completely.
- Add Top Cinnamon Sugar: Sprinkle the remaining half of the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top dough layer to give the bars their signature churro flavor.
- Bake: Place the pan in a preheated oven at 350°F (177°C) and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is lightly golden brown and the filling is set.
- Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and allow the bars to cool before slicing into squares. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Ensure cream cheese is softened to room temperature to achieve a smooth filling without lumps.
- Press crescent dough seams tightly to prevent filling leakage during baking.
- You can dust with additional cinnamon sugar after baking for extra flavor if desired.
- Store leftover bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Let bars cool completely before cutting to prevent the filling from oozing out.
