Description

Cheesy Chicken Crescent Roll Bake is an easy-to-make, comforting casserole that combines tender chicken, gooey cheese, and flaky crescent rolls into a savory dish that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner. The layers of chicken and cheese are wrapped in buttery crescent rolls, creating a deliciously satisfying meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

For the Bake:

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded (rotisserie chicken works great!)

1 (8 oz) can crescent rolls

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup ranch dressing (optional for extra flavor)

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)

Salt and pepper, to taste

For Garnish (optional):

Fresh parsley, chopped

Extra shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Chicken Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the shredded chicken, cream cheese, ranch dressing (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, thyme (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, reserving a small handful of cheese for topping.
  3. Assemble the Bake: Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it. Lay the crescent rolls flat in the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together to form a crust on the bottom. It’s okay if the dough doesn’t perfectly cover the entire dish. Spoon the chicken mixture evenly over the crescent roll crust, spreading it out to cover the entire surface. Top with the reserved shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
  5. Serve: Let the bake cool for a few minutes before cutting it into squares. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Add sautéed vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers to the chicken mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.

Use cream of chicken soup instead of cream cheese for a different creamy base.

Swap the cheddar cheese for mozzarella or a blend of your favorite cheeses.

Add a drizzle of buffalo sauce or hot sauce for a spicy kick.
