Description

Beef Parmesan Tortellini is a rich, hearty dish that combines tender beef with cheesy tortellini, all smothered in a savory Parmesan sauce. It’s the ultimate comfort food, perfect for busy weeknights or weekend dinners.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beefa

1 package (9 oz) refrigerated or frozen cheese tortellini

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup onion, finely chopped

1 cup marinara sauce

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions, usually around 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat if needed.
  3. Sauté the aromatics: Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is softened and fragrant.
  4. Make the sauce: Stir in the marinara sauce, heavy cream, grated Parmesan, oregano, and basil. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Combine the tortellini and beef mixture: Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Let everything simmer for 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on the side.

Notes

Spicy Beef Parmesan Tortellini: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.

Veggie Additions: Add spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms to the beef mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.

Cheese Variations: Mix in mozzarella or ricotta, or sprinkle mozzarella on top and broil for a cheesy, baked version.

Ground Turkey or Chicken: Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
